I am joyfully awaiting my first payment from my first customer, who ordered 2 tees with doggies on them!  Though they are simple stencils, the potential buyer is thrilled.  I say potential only because the sale has not been finalized yet.

I've started an Etsy store, containing one shirt for now.  I'm working on a few more to add to the store, and maybe someone will like them and buy them.  All I want to do is make some extra cash for Christmas.  My shirts make a great gift!!!

So that was just a quicky update.  The kitty quilt is almost finished, still needs it's binding and lable and it'll be all set :)

Something new and possibly just as fun!

My husband and I have been talking about printing t-shirts for a long time.  He's been in the process of pricing different screen printing equipment so we can get started with that, but in the mean time we've started playing with Freezer Paper Stencil and different kinds of inks.  Even though we've only been at it a couple days I think I could already be addicted!  Here's some pics!

Kitty Quilt so far

Here is the quilt with one border.  I'm going to add one more.

Fall is upon us :)

I love fall, I love the smell in the air, I especially love the foliage that we are blessed enough to see here in the North East.

School has started for my oldest, and that means a bit more time for my projects.  I know this started out as a blog about my journey on the Farmer's Wife quilt, but I have several other things I would like to chat about.  Hope those of you who may read my blog are ok with that!

The FWQ is stalled at the moment because of my current project, a kitty quilt that will be donated to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society.  It's also being entered in Joann Fabric and Craft Stores Craft for A Cause contest. for a chance to win 1 of 5 $1,500 Joann Gift Cards, something I would love to win.  ( It would buy me my dream sewing machine)   The Kitty quilt is made up of nine 4" blocks (stolen from the FWQ and Blockbase), with sashing and corner stones.  Here are some pics of the progress so far...

I have all the blocks and sashing sewn together and I have one border on as well, I will post a picture of that when I take one.  I'll also be stitching the names and adoption dates of some cats into the sashing.

Life took over...

My husband and I attended the wedding of a good friend's son this past Saturday, that was three hours away.  It was straight up I-87, through the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.  The scenery was spectacular, the mountains where full of lush vegetation.  The faces of some of the bigger mountains where amazing, and I wish I had taken pictures, but my camera is seeing it's very last days very soon!  I did get pictures at the wedding, but most didn't come out that great.

Anyways...I've been on a quilting hiatus for the last few days, but I'm ready to go today!

I'll have more later!  Mommyhood calls!

2 more blocks

Block #5 - Bat Wing

The first was a PITA to sew.  I had to rip out seams several times and I still don't like how the block came out...

The 2nd block was much easier and was fun to put together, then again, most 1/4 square triangles are :)

Block #6 - Big Dipper
As of right now, the official start date for the FWSQ Group on www.quiltingboard.com is set to start Aug 4th.  I can't wait!!

More to come...

Templates and 2 more blocks

I'm trying to keep my templates for each of the Farmer's Wife blocks organized.  I'm keeping each set of templates in ziplock sandwich bags, and I'm labeling each one with the block number and name...

I've also completed 2 more blocks.  I'm keeping the finished blocks in a large ziplock bag so kitties don't get their fur all over them :)

Block 2 - Autumn Tints

Block 3 - Basket

Currently I'm machine piecing my blocks, and I plan to attempt paper piecing as I get a little more done.

Come back soon for another update!

Until then, happy quilting!
